That's pretty much exactly what I would have said, except that my name's Shannon, and I'm 23. I saw Kaki at the Melbourne Tegan and Sara show, and also at her Melbourne show at the Corner Hotel in April, and think it's amazing how she seems to go into her own little world when she's playing, it's as if she doesn't even notice that there are hundreds of people watching from the audience because she's so into the music.

Well my name is Nick. I'm 17. I'm a senior and I'm majoring in composition/music theory. I came across Kaki at a Foo Fighters concert when they played Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners. Of course, I was interested in learning more. Currently listening to Ingots. Great song.

I'm 19, til midday tomorrow at least, I'm vegan, and I study Music in London during the year... but right now I'm home in Northern Ireland for summer. A good time to learn some new stuff on guitar.

Other than guitar, which I've played 5 years, I play bass, keyboard, electric violin and I used to have this cool native american flute 'til it somehow lost itself when I was really drunk one night. Lame.

I play lead in a tech death metal band, but we're on hold for summer. Learning fingerstyle songs makes me feel like a guitar noob again and I like it. Andy McKee tunes are fun to play so far, and I'm looking at some Kaki to learn too.

my internet pseudonym is "eliot small" but you can call me whatever you like, such as "small ninja," or something (i am no eliot that is a boy). i am an old fart of 19 (turning 20 soon), and am from the bay area, california (an hour away from san francisco). i like drawing and i'm also very short. um.

um. my first kaki kaki show was on march 23 of this year... i shook hands with her and got an autograph that i smudged, but in between was really awkward talk. i couldn't even introduce myself properly and just put out my hand for her to shake and just grinned. oh lord! i found out about her music around the end of 2006. fab-u-lous! sigh.

there seems to be a lot of chileans here! hola everyone! but i am not chilean and spanish is my third language. or second and a half, because i can't speek it very well.

And now after almost a year of waiting I can go see her playing again, finally.

i'm Giang, i'm from NZ as well. I'm 20, at uni. my favourite band in the world is cocorosie but there's no forums for them. one day i'll get some cash together and build one if there's still not one by then (we're talking years later cos i'm dirt poor atm).

I just saw a guy that plays really similar to Kaki about a week ago at open mic night and it was amazing. I've been trying to get all my guy mates into Kaki and they're blown away by how awesome she is but still won't listen to any of her albums

Hi there! I'm Christine, I'm from Greece and maybe the oldest one here (I'm 32 ). I found about Kaki a couple of years ago in a guitar magazine article, then I listened to some tracks on Last.fm and that was it: I can't spend a single day without listening to her records. Btw, thanks to Last.fm I found about this forum in May. I don't post so much but I do visit the forum oftenly. Happy to be here!
Anyway, I've been playing the electric guitar for like 17 years (OMG, some of you were not even born back then LOL!),and since 2005 I've been focusing on soundscapes and live looping. I do find Kaki inspiring, especially her fingerpicking, her open tunings and the fact that she combines jazz harmony with pop elements. I also appreciate the fact that she collaborated with John McIntyre, who plays for Tortoise and The Sea And Cake, two of my most favourite bands ever. The girl knows what she's doing!
Anyway, I guess that's all for now. Cheers to you all and see ya 'round!
