it ranges from extremely harsh noise to disconcertingly serene and melancholy. i would say it's all powerful stuff.
Thanks, some good stuff in there!
I'd have probably added some Swans, Fuck Buttons, HEALTH, Boris & Sunn O)))
Re: What song are you listening to....RIGHT NOW?!
swans would have fit perfectly right in there, but health is fashionrock so i can't let them in

Oh, hi there.
Sooo....
I've been listening to a LOT of Boards of Canada lately. There's something about the heavy chorus that they use on some of their analog synths that sounds so... nostalgic. They have a bunch of neat videos up on YouTube, mostly of their songs set to very bizarre movie clips from the 60's and 70's.
I always like to listen to Ozric Tentacles. Not for the faint of heart. The original psychedelic space future rock band. The first album I ever listened to by them was "Spirals in Hyperspace". I've found that their album "The Hidden Step" is particularly entertaining to listen to.
Been listening to a lot of dubstep lately... Eskmo just released a new album, and though it's not straight ahead dubstep like his earlier stuff, it's very good. Excision has been really hitting the spot on some days, and Kode9 and Space Ape has been seeing some rotation in my playlist.
Other than that... I have the new Antoine Dufour album on my 'Pod as well, which is pretty much amazing, in addition to some Pendulum, Younger Brother, Biodiesel...
But seriously, listen to Lamb. That band is... well... It's just hard to describe in words. Lou Rhodes (the singer) has such amazing vocal control. Sometimes she just rides out a flat to the last excruciating second, and then PUNCHES through to the root. Also, the production on all of their stuff is absolutely stunning. If you haven't heard this band, listen to them. They are truly inspiring. In case you're wondering (or need more incentive), it's often classified as trip hop, so think mellow evening vibe with a nice glass of wine, relaxing after work...
Also, of course, I listen to my own music. Doing a show in L.A. on Saturday at Artisan Venice in Venice (Windward & Pacific) with my band. Come see, if you're local (and I know some of you are)... It's a collectively owned art gallery, with lots of local and handmade art, and there will be only a $5 suggested donation at the door. Also, I think we'll be doing some sort of "drink ticket" thing so you can have wine. Wine and music. /shameless plug
