eric, i was totally about to ask for your favorite albums. i love your taste in music. i just got 'life on earth' today...i need to soak in it a little longer before i can judge. /wasn't dead deer released in '08?

st.vincent's actor was probably my favorite album this year. i liked noble beast by andrew bird a lot as well...i can't remember if an horse's album was released in 08 or 09, and i dont think it's brilliant or anything, but i guess i have a sort of emotional attachment to it, so...yeah.

dead deer was totally '08, but i thought it was still relevant and i heard it this year, so i wanted to put it in there.

noble beast is a good record! actor, of course, is brilliant. and i think the an horse record came out in late 08.

and life on earth is really beautiful. it's a challenge to listen to all the way through, and it's not something i always put on, but it's extremely profound and moving. so stunning and honest. somethings are just to beautiful to deny, and life on earth has a lot of that. it moved me so much, so that's why it's my favorite of this year.

sainthood is the record i've listened to the most this year

eric, downloaded dead deer last night. omfg so good. i agree--heavy water/i'd rather be sleeping is such a lovely track. i also like tiny vipers a lot as well.

i was a bit disappointed with sainthood, but man did i love the xx!!!!! sooo goood. and fever ray was brilliant. i've yet to hear patrick wolf's new record.

dude, grouper is one of my new loves. so moody. so dreamy. you've no idea what she's saying most of the time, but you know it's beautiful.

although life on earth is my fav, bitte orca comes in close second. i listen to it so much. the best dirty projectors release yet, i believe.

the xx and dirty projectors were good. sainthood was disappointing. have i gone off on phoenix and animal collective being totally totally overrated yet?

dude i havent listened to phoenix but i totally agree with you. about animal collective, i liked their new EP better than merriweather post pavillion. their best record is feels, by far.

p.s. everyone should see this beautiful masterpiece of a song.

i didn't really like merriweather post pavillion, i listened too it because everyone said it was good and if everyone says it i need too listen too it to make up my own mind.

and sainthood isn't as good as the con but it is still one of my favorites of this year,
it has 3 of my favorite songs of the moment on it.

I really enjoyed Phoenix's album.
Not going to bother with Animal Collective.
...I gave Grizzly Bear a try but meh... some songs are awesome, others are lame.
I agree with Britt and Alex, Sainthood did not top the Con and was kinda disappointing.
