The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer
Okey, I've been meaning to do this for a long time but because we've been kinda talking about Amanda Palmer on another segment on this forum I never posted this, so here it finally is.
The Dresden Dolls are an Punk-Cabaret group, the singer is Amanda Palmer. She just released her first solo record, it's called Who killed Amanda Palmer.
I've seen her 4 times in 4 different country's and every time she blew me away.
For people who haven't heard/listend to the dresden dolls yet I would have to say that you should listen to their first album: the dresden dolls. They also have two other records called Yes, virginia and No, virginia. Both are good but not as good as their first.
Amanda Palmer's Who killed amanda palmer is also very good.

Re: The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer
no.
i also sent a oasis cover with it, that was slow and depressing.
haha.
my email goes like this:
"hello, my name is Joey.
i'm a 16 year old, teenage boy, and i'm seriously in love with your work.
it's great, there's something very human and real about it.
anyways, i promised myself this wasn't going to be fan-mail,
i am emailing you about something else.
so today, maybe an hour ago, i was sitting in my room, playing oasis on my guitar.
and i remember reading one of your blogs, and how BBC and MTV might not play oasis.
that if you played it in a minor key and slowed it down, they would love it.
well, i decided to do just that, with my guitar.
i just used the same chords but i put a capo on the 4th fret.
i hope you enjoy it, it's attached to this email.
also, i'm a musician, (obviously, i made a cover with my guitar.)
i am the band "The Audacity of Youth", it's a one musician type deal.
but it would be awesome if you TOOK ME ON A SUMMER TOURRR.
haha, but really. I thought it was awesome that you took smoosh,
(if i remembered their name correctly),
on tour with you, and i thought that was the sweetest thing.
so email me back, if you want to reply, i guess!

Re: The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer
Oh so, you covered Oasis, she also did a different version of that song in london a slower version because it was banned in the UK. So maybe it was inspired by you.
I would love to hear your cover!

If you don't want to share it on the forum, I can understand. But e-mail it to me, PLEASE!!!
I really would love to hear it, it doesn't matter if you can sing or not. I can't sing either, so I wont judge!

Re: The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer
Amanda's first independent release: Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele!
If you choose to throw a little cash her way, let me say it's definitely worth it; my night has totally been made with this!

Amanda Palmer goes down under is out now! (I'm going to try & bribe a couple of friends to get me a copy from her Opera house show, cause I'll be at big day out on the 26th)
Having heard a couple of the songs live, I have high hopes for this album (that & it's awfully sweet of her to make a record about us like this )
